Hi! I'm Clare.
I believe the best stories don't just help us become better readers—they help us become more connected.
They give us something to laugh about, wonder about, talk about, and remember together. That's the kind of reading life I hope to inspire through Cherry Picked Books.
Some of my favorite memories involve books, but not because I read every page perfectly. They're about reading together on the couch, being caught up in a silly moment, and remembering how a book made us feel long after we closed it.
That's what Cherry Picked Books is all about.
Through the Cherry Mail Club, every recommendation, letter, and little surprise is thoughtfully chosen to help families slow down, connect, and create meaningful reading moments together.
A little about me
By day, I'm a teacher and reading specialist. I'm also a mom, lifelong reader, and someone who genuinely loves helping people discover books they'll adore. I love making connections in general!
Over the years I've recommended hundreds (probably thousands!) of books to students, friends, parents, and fellow readers. Eventually I realized my favorite part wasn't simply recommending books—it was matching the right book with the right person at exactly the right time.
That's where Cherry Picked Books began.
About
Why "Cherry Picked"?
Because every recommendation is carefully chosen. One of my favorite places to read is in Door County, Wisconsin (also known as "Cherryland" for its beautiful cherry orchards). Every summer since I was young, I would find myself slowing down there with a stack of books, good company, and the reminder that the best stories (like the sweetest cherries), are worth taking the time to choose.
That's the heart behind Cherry Picked Books: carefully selected recommendations that help create meaningful moments and lasting memories.
My hope
I hope Cherry Picked Books' Cherry Mail club becomes something your family looks forward to every month.
A letter waiting in the mailbox.
A new story to discover.
A conversation that wouldn't have happened otherwise.
A reason to slow down together.
Because the best stories don't end when you close the book.
They become part of your family.
With a cherry on top,
Clare
